- In 1940 Col. Dufort arrives in Timbuktu with his wife to take over the French garrison. This garrison is threatened by a Tuareg uprising supposedly inspired by Mohamet Adjani -- a holy man once regarded as a friend of France. Almost immediately Col. and Mme. Dufort push on to Bou Djebeha in company with an American gunrunner named Mike Conway who soon engages the Colonel's wife......

- 第22集真感人啊，可惜最后两集有些潦草，父子两人的杀人动机和逻辑没有完全交代清楚，比如秀才为什么照着《人间乐园》杀（有趣的是特意把博斯的名字换掉了），吴嘉的复合动机又过于复杂（点了父亲+基因驱使+报复社会？），但瑕不掩瑜，这种双时空跨年代追凶的故事，做出一个就绝了一批后路...

- 编剧好会放烟雾弹啊，但感觉是为了迷惑而迷惑。到结尾了突然来个深情人设就转过来了？转的有点儿硬，剧情还有点儿水…
- 唯一可惜的是为了避讳，原小说后半部分文革没有拍出来，可怜的老李老赵几乎无一幸免。
